Ten Thousand In A Couple Hours
I just had someone ask me about one of those seminar guys who was saying that you could make $10,000 with a couple hours work, or they bought a house for $500 and sold it the next day for $100,000.
These things are true, but they are very misleading.
The reason is that they lead you to believe that anyone can do this, and I guess even that is sort of true. In the sense that anyone can buy a lotto ticket and win a million dollars.
But what they do is run tons of ads on tv then get thousands of people to sign up and out of those people one of them will buy a house on their first day. Then they advertise that persons results.
But what they fail to tell you is that your chances are one in 10,000 of buying a house on your first day. Something similar to winning the lotto, sure one person does win, but the odds are not that great for the average person.
Once you get really efficient at looking at houses and finding deals, then you will start to make money, and you can make some good money.
But you should figure on a learning curve, it will take weeks or months to lean everything you need to know and during this time you probably won’t make much or anything.
If you keep at it, and get good at what your doing, I have had months were I was able to average $300 to $400 an hour, that’s when I figured all the hours I had worked that month and was able to buy and sell something.
Some houses I owned for 3 or 4 years, and then I have no idea how many hours I worked on them, some of them I worked a lot of hours.
But starting out is the hard part because until you close your first deal you are making zero per hour, and that can be hard to deal with.
