Does Buying And Selling Houses Really Make Money

I am trying to make some money online, and the first question that keeps coming up for me is does this work.

I mean for the average person if you give them a set of instructions and they follow them will they get results.

Two months ago I purchased a marketing course for $250 off ebay.  I followed all the steps and I was suppose to make $4,000 per month…. Guaranteed.

I did everything exactly as instructed and I have made exactly nothing. Less my expenses puts me in the hole several hundred dollars.  I was a little surprised to say the least. I couldn’t imagine making nothing. I was thinking that if I made half my money back that would be a complete failure and a big waste of my time.

So this got me thinking about real estate and does it work?

Two months ago I also ran into a guy who was interested in making some money with houses.  I have been talking to him on the phone a few times a week and I have spent maybe 10 hours training him in person.

He has a full time job so he was only doing this part time after work and on weekends.

Last Monday he bought his first house and four days later, on Friday he sold that house and cleared a profit of $24,000.00 – I didn’t give him or lend him any money, only advice and he did all the work.  

So I am left thinking that real estate works a lot better than some internet marketing.

Maybe I should have charged him a 2% fee for my assistance in finding and closing his deal. That would have covered the money I wasted on my internet marketing attempt.
